Here, the purity of the atmosphere and the absence of light pollution make star-gazing easy. The area has a long astronomical tradition and there are several major observatories including Le Pic du Bure and St Michel l'Observatoire ... Many discovery activities are organized around the stars. The Copernicus Association, founded by Joseph Grumel, a famous astronomer, organises night-time observations every Tuesday on the Haute Corréo plateau. Every summer spectacular 3-day events are held in Sisteron with conferences and wide screen film shows. The Observatoire du Mas des Grès in Moydans  runs training courses in astronomy.

The La Barule Association and the Aspres-sur-Buëch Tourist Office organises very enjoyable evening walks for the family, to explore the area from another perspective, observing and listening to the wildlife in superb moonlit landscapes, plus star-gazing and an initiation to astronomy ... excitement guaranteed! After the walk, you sit down to a meal made from regional produce with music to end the evening on a friendly note.
