The mountains of Provence is an age-old region and the home of many AOC specialities with authenticity labels. Traditionally a sheep farming area, fine and tasty Sisteron lamb has a well-deserved reputation for being exceptionally delicious and won the coveted Red label in 2003 (IGP). Lavender, another great local classic crop, also has AOC - "Lavande de Haute Provence" and "Huiles essentielles de Lavande de Haute Provence" labels guaranteeing peerless quality.
Red Labels have also been awarded to "Pomme des Alpes", Banon – an AOC goat's milk cheese wrapped in a chestnut leaf, Haute Provence olive oil and the wines from our hillside vineyards...
